The cruise terminal and arrival address

Cape Liberty is on the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor in New Jersey. Royal Caribbean gives the passenger-terminal address as 4 Port Terminal Boulevard, Bayonne, NJ 07002. This is a different departure point from the Manhattan and Brooklyn cruise terminals, so check the port printed on your cruise documents before arranging parking. The final approach runs along Port Terminal Boulevard to the controlled cruise-terminal area.

Driving directions and the final approach

From the New Jersey Turnpike, the cruise line directs drivers to Exit 14A and Route 440 South, then Port Terminal Boulevard. Travelers crossing from Staten Island use the Bayonne Bridge and Route 440 North. From Manhattan, allow for the tunnel or bridge crossing into New Jersey as well as the final port approach. Use the address on your parking confirmation if you reserve an independent lot: a facility marketed for Cape Liberty can be several miles from the ship.

Traffic, road conditions and journey timing

Check 511 New Jersey before setting off and leave room for Turnpike, bridge and tunnel delays. Several stages of the trip can take longer than the navigation estimate: port-road queues, luggage handling, parking check-in and the transfer to the terminal. Plan around the cruise line’s assigned arrival window and follow staff directions when queues form. For the return journey, agree on a pickup point after you have collected your luggage.

Parking choices and important restrictions

The port has parking next to the terminal, including a garage and adjacent outdoor parking. Royal Caribbean publishes a garage clearance of 7 feet 4 inches and separate arrangements for oversize vehicles. Use the current port guidance for rates and vehicle restrictions. Independent parking can offer a different overall cost, but check that the reservation specifically includes a Cape Liberty transfer; an airport shuttle to Newark does not by itself cover the cruise port.

Transfers and onward travel

Newark Liberty International Airport is a useful regional arrival point for a Bayonne cruise. Travelers using rail from New York can connect from PATH to Hudson–Bergen Light Rail, but a further road transfer is needed from Bayonne to the terminal. A taxi, reserved car or parking shuttle should be arranged with enough luggage capacity. Confirm which return phone number or dispatch instructions apply before leaving the vehicle.

Arrival and collection checklist

Keep cruise boarding documents, identification, essential medication and valuables with you when handing over checked bags. Save the parking confirmation offline and note the lot’s collection procedure. If a shuttle operates on request, find out whether to call before you arrive or after parking. Passengers should use the signed terminal facilities and waiting areas rather than attempt to walk along vehicle-only port approaches.

Accessible parking and assistance

Ask the cruise line for embarkation assistance in advance. For independent parking, separately confirm accessible spaces, the shuttle’s lift or ramp, mobility-device dimensions and the route from the drop-off point to check-in. A wheelchair-accessible parking space does not establish that the transfer vehicle is accessible.

A stay before or after your journey

Hotels near Cape Liberty Cruise Port

Bayonne, Jersey City and the Newark Airport area offer different combinations of port access, dining and hotel choice. Compare the complete journey to the cruise terminal, not just the room price. A hotel’s airport shuttle and its cruise transfer are separate services; check the cost, departure times and whether leaving a car for the cruise is permitted.

Check the parking package

A parking-only offer does not include a hotel room. For a hotel package, confirm the number of parking days, transfer destination and any additional passenger charges.

Parking questions answered

Which terminal should I use at Cape Liberty Cruise Port?

Use the terminal assigned by your cruise line for the sailing date, then check the official port map. If you book an independent parking lot, follow its arrival address and transfer instructions first.

Is the cruise shuttle included in the parking price?

It depends on the offer. Check the charge, passenger allowance, luggage rules, operating window and return pickup process. An airport shuttle is not automatically a cruise-terminal transfer.

When should I reach the parking lot?

Follow your cruise line’s check-in window. Add time for luggage drop-off and any independent parking transfer before you reach terminal security.

Can I leave an oversized vehicle or RV?

Check the height, length, width and vehicle-category rules for the specific product before reserving. A garage, outdoor lot and hotel parking area can have different restrictions and charges.

What if I need accessible parking or a lift-equipped transfer?

Confirm accessible spaces, the transfer vehicle and the final route to check-in with the provider. Arrange embarkation assistance with the cruise line; the parking booking does not arrange shipboard assistance.
